Women have the strength and power to multitask, quite often they do feel the challenges of managing a career, being a mother, wife, daughter-in-law or daughter. They often will be everywhere trying to do everything, making it stressful and often ignoring their health.
Women feel the burden of duty and responsibility of having to do and follow the norms of the festivities. They are expected to take lead right from planning to buying, execution, and preparation till the final product is achieved. It can be right from cleaning up the house for festivities to deciding various things in preparation till the ritual is over. Quite often a tedious task, however, the woman of the house will work tirelessly for days. This can physically and mentally drain and tire while trying to keep up with the expectations and eventually impact psychologically.
While the expectations will always remain and keep growing, it is entirely on each one on how to handle, how much to step in and where to draw the line.
Women need to understand their body and learn to take care of their health. Today’s busy lifestyle not only burdens the body physically but also causes a lot of severe psychological impact.
However, since festivities are for everyone to enjoy, it is only fair that the entire household get involved in the preparation and divide the work so that women do not feel the pressure. At the same time, make them feel loved, appreciated, supported and this then will not cause mental strain on them.
Festive celebrations itself will help improve one’s mental health and emotional quotient because any kind of celebration where there is lot of socializing, music, dance, family, laughter, foods, sweets, of course and family coming together obviously it helps uplift mental health and you don’t feel that it takes toll on mental health.
Ways to keep your mind healthy everyday:
Be objective about the situation – Seek help, divide work, do not over burden self, find ‘me’ time, meditate, walk, do some breathwork.
Have a ritual – It helps you to organize the outside world with the internal world. How you start and end the day is very important. Prepare the mind in the morning and say that you will be proactive today.
When we are expected to be giving, loving, doing; ensure that you get the same back by talking and seeking support from family or people around you. Have positive talks.
A woman can create a vision for oneself. To Just “Look Good & Feel Great”.
