Meditation vis-a –vis Concentration

This whole world is a ball of weight,

This whole world spins in speed,

This whole world has multitude of distractions with inexhaustible stimulations to our mind every nano second. Weight, speed, and multitude of stimulations create hyperactivity in our minds and that creates strain, drain and stress. From the time you open your eyes till we shut them at night all this occupies the space in our mind that is difficult to deal with. Also from the time of birth to the time of death we suffer the same. The spillover of every day

is a burden to deal and cope with. Can you imagine that everything that hasn’t been dealt with or coped with or addressed, becomes the part of that burden, of not just a few days, but of our entire past in this life. The spirituals and psychiatrists of this world have some scientific basis, saying, having collected the burden of a million lives lived, for us to deal with Our Ancient Indian seers could see in the future and peer in the past, because they had learnt this art to be free of this same burden and this art is nothing but the art of letting go, the art of emptying oneself, the art of releasing the junk and freeing ourselves and this art is what this world calls Meditation. Given that our primary being is consciousness in different states and secondly we are a physical being. The burden of this weight on our mind is so

immense that it disturbs us even while we are asleep.

Which is why the art of the ancient seers of letting it be and letting it go…releasing it all in to this universe blanking out completely getting rooted in the current moment awareness is popularly celebrated as Meditation. The point of convergence. The point of interception of cosmic intelligence. So, Let’s go back to the commonly asked question, What is Meditation?

The general idea of meditation is to renounce the world and go sit on top of a mountain and perform austerities. In fact one cannot be more further from the truth. One does not need to be in a state of outwardly isolation to meditate. Again, many may argue that there can be no meditation without some sort of sacrifice. Naah, why does one require to sacrifice for a state of meditation to occur? Letting go is freedom and not sacrifice. Letting it be is detaching not disconnecting and once again it’s not a sacrifice. People also tend to mistake concentration for meditation. When you focus too much on something then that focus becomes concentration. When we concentrate on something, we focus hard. When the focus becomes too strong, there is expenditure of a lot of energy. Concentrating on something, on one point, takes the awareness away from the environment and instead of bringing one closer to the center and fulfillment, the person is stuck in a narrow range of focus, which keeps us away from the centre. Meditation is being in awareness of the whole and being integrated with it. It provides the first glimpse of the here and now and leads you to expanded awareness. For many people, meditation starts from the experience of activities that we enjoy the most. Let’s say food, yoga, song, dance, music and for many meditative experience happens with meaning full sex or should we say the art of making love, romance and worshipping the partner, where eventually the actor and the action become one in that experience – It is the experience of forgetting everything and everyone. Just being in that moment when the time stops, continuing in that moment where the world stops and where seemingly the universe has come to a standstill. Many humans, like the Salmon (who after spawning swim upstream to its place of birth) get lost on the way to bliss, as they desperately try to connect to the source and die.

As with other instinctual practices in life, for example; we should breathe through the abdomen, but instead we breathe through the chest.

Concentration on the other hand excludes everything, except the point in focus. The harder one focuses, more we get drained. Subject-Object duality continues as there is someone watching and something / someone being watched. In Meditation, the duality dissolves and oneness emerges as there are no lines dividing your sensory perceptions.

In concentration, the insecurity that we all carry surfaces to haunt us because all perceptions are fragmented, thus instability, chaos and a sense of uncertainty prevails. In Meditation, there is bliss and full sense of security and soundness. Because the

whole premise is central view of oneness, absoluteness and wholeness. When one claims that the goal of meditation is to be one with the ‘Shoonyam, (the point Zero)’ then why so much anxiety in trying to focus? When with meditation one is in the ‘Shoonyam’, there cannot be any need for ambition, to do something, to be somewhere or desire to be happy, etc. one simply is. Sleeplessness is countered by various methods, one of them is counting, when counting itself requires energy and it becomes all about doing rather than being. Like in sleep, we surrender with choice, Meditation requires surrender with grace and choice of being submissive... Simply “no doing” and completely ‘being”. Being brings you to the state of ZERO where confusions disappear and clarity appears, where complexities give way to simplicity. All doing ceases. In the ‘Shoonyam Quotient’ there is thoughtlessness and from that emerges a kind of beauty and bliss not known to most.

That Meditation is an art of empyting oneself.

Should we call it the state of MIND-LESS-NESS? Because the very word mind and its existence is mostly about dwelling in the past and thinking about the future or simply meandering. This space of emptiness where you are in the space of no mind is called the

Shoonyam state. This is the point of absolute transformation.Transformation is nothing but, awareness of your God- like -self “Your true capabilities of being 100 percent total in every moment of thought word and deed thus being a miracle maker. All tools of manifestation are available in “The Shoonyam Quotient”. The journey is mysterious and the process is mystical. Having said that, this mystery is in everything and yet, contained in nothing. Once one achieves the state of ‘Shoonyam’ there is nothing more left to do, except share the experience be established in the flow and the rhythm and be integrated with the vastness of all. Everything happens naturally with least efforts and least doing, for example, An artist painting in his flow, a musician playing in its flow, a singer singing in the harmony, a poet writing with the rhythm etc. People amazed by such phenomena throng such persons in his/her raised consciousness, to get a glimpse of divinity.

Meditation can be through the appreciation of the five senses too where all five senses merge to become One of beauty, glory and wonderment. Appreciate fragrance of the flowers, the vastness of the sky, the fertility of the trees, the infinity of the oceans, the energy ripples of the rivers, the sound of the waves, the beauty of the clouds, the drizzle of the rain, air touching your body, the delicious taste of the fruits, and much more to connect every creature with nature. The more you connect, the more you go deeper into your subconscious, the more closer you get to the center of your being. The more meditative you are. Meditation could be passive in stillness, and being meditative could be active in dynamism. The combination of two could make one an epicenterof THEISM.

A human is nothing more than the recycling of the elements and it is for that same reason that one needs to connect more and more with them, to get dissolved with them. Anchoring in Harmony with them all. Once the natural connection with the conscious nature gets stronger and stronger, the artificial ego (the dividing line of duality) is shed and your ‘Shoonyam Quotient’ starts growing. Negative imagination leads to unproductive thoughts, positive imagination gives rise to creative thoughts. Practicing meditation few times a day will lead you to in and out of bliss at the same time in and out of chaos.

But becoming meditative will give the sense of continuity with the creative influence of the

Shoonyam quotient… LIGHTS – CAMERAS - ACTION! IN THE SHOONYAM QUOTIENT RESPOND TO LIFE WITHOUT REACTION.
